How to Beat Breed Bias in Apartment Applications
Applying with a Shih Tzu
Shih Tzus were bred as companions, and that suits apartment life well. They're small, low-exercise, and generally calm. You won't face much resistance, so keep your pitch simple: size, grooming, and a friendly temperament. If your dog sheds little or goes to a groomer regularly, mention it, since a landlord thinking about allergies and carpets will appreciate the detail.
FAQ
Shih Tzu Resume Questions
Does a pet resume help when renting with a Shih Tzu?
It can't guarantee approval, but it gives a landlord something better than a breed name on a form: your Shih Tzu's habits, records, and a reference, all on one friendly page.
What should I put on a pet resume?
Your pet's age and weight, vaccination and spay or neuter status, training, daily routine, a reference, and how to reach you. Only include what's true, because a landlord may ask for proof.
Do landlords restrict Shih Tzus?
Policies vary, and size or weight limits are the most common hurdle. Ask early, and share the resume when you do.
How much is the resume?
It's included with the $19.90 Superstar Pack, along with 36 images. Use any of them as the resume photo and download a PDF with no watermark.
